Inspiration from the land of the rising sun
The Kokeshi collection takes its inspiration from the culture and the art of Japan; in its straightness, the harmony of its interiors and its functionality. It is designed by Mariusz Małecki (Zibena).
The uniqueness of far eastern architecture is visible and imbued into elements of the furniture pagodas and its profiled legs. Pagodas (optional) are at the top sections of the collection of chests of drawers or sideboards.
Above all they have decorative meaning- small openwork roofs bent upwards with corner tables drawn aside resemble architectural patterns of the sacred buildings characteristic of this part of the continent.
This creates the collection Kokeshi collection, also adorned with handmade wooden dolls, a selection contrasting colors with red and black dominating in conjunction with floral patterns.
Harmony and the modernity
The culture and the art of Japan are also inseparably bound with the concept adhering to a subtle Zen-like aesthetic minimalism. The furniture has straight, geometrical shapes “hung” on legs separated from the base above profiled, arched shapes.
In spite of the tangible dimensions (its capacity and functionality), the furniture resembles an impression of light.
In accordance with nature
Furniture from the Kokeshi collection is made from high-grade materials: fronts, bamboo veneers, handles, legs, wood and laminated board in the color of dark oak. The collection also has additional accessories (optional) such as drawers was made from environmentally friendly eco-leather with fronts in two different colors (brown and brick-red) with pegged wooden handles.
Original decorative touches have been imbued into the collection, including graphics of the Japanese artist Acci Baba--"The Giant Budda”, "Ikkyu”, "Meisou”--along with Kokeshi dolls, lamps, china, trays and decorative glassware.
